Leading the Way in Innovative Electric Power Steering Solutions for Commercial Vehicles
Global commercial vehicle steering systems primarily use mechanical hydraulic and electro-hydraulic power steering due to the vehicles’ heavy weight and high steering power requirements. Traditional EPS systems have limited assist power, making them less common in commercial vehicles.
To address this, we’ve focused on expanding the commercial vehicle EPS market. Through innovations like dual-stage worm and ball screw drives, hybrid ball screw nut structures, and high-power ECUs, we’ve enabled EPS for light, medium, and heavy commercial vehicles. In 2018, our DP-EPS successfully achieved mass production for commercial vehicles.

FAQ
General Questions
The working principle of EPS is relatively complex yet highly efficient. When the driver turns the steering wheel, a torque sensor detects the movement and converts the resulting angular displacement into an electrical signal, which is then sent to the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). Simultaneously, a speed sensor transmits the vehicle's speed data to the ECU. Upon receiving this information, the ECU processes it through a series of precise control algorithms to determine the motor's rotation direction and optimal assist torque. The ECU then sends a control signal to the motor, which is driven by the power circuit. After the motor's output is enhanced through a reduction gear mechanism, it powers the gear-rack assembly, providing the driver with steering assistance.
Electric power steering system doesn't use any oil, so there's no oil leakage issues, and it's more environmentally friendly.
The EPS (Electric Power Steering) system offers several advantages over traditional Hydraulic Power Steering (HPS):
- The motor activates only when steering assistance is needed, reducing fuel consumption.
- It provides optimal assistance under various driving conditions, improving steering performance and enhancing vehicle safety.
- EPS eliminates hydraulic circuits, making adjustments and diagnostics easier, increasing automation in assembly, and allowing quick adaptation to different vehicle models by adjusting software, thus shortening development and production cycles.
- There are no oil leakage issues, making it more environmentally friendly.
In summary, EPS offers improved fuel efficiency, enhanced steering precision, increased safety, easier maintenance, faster integration, and better environmental impact.
