Electric Axle Drive

As commercial vehicles shift rapidly toward electrification, the industry is undergoing a major transformation. From light trucks to heavy-duty trucks, buses to trailers, electric drive axles are playing a key role in this transition. Compared to traditional setups with motors, reducers, and driveshafts, electric axles eliminate the driveshaft, shorten the drivetrain, reduce weight, and improve overall efficiency – all while supporting the trend toward more compact, integrated EV systems.
At Brogen, we offer a full range of advanced electric axle solutions tailored to different vehicle types and use cases. With high efficiency, strong reliability, and flexible configurations, our solutions help vehicle manufacturers accelerate their move to electric mobility.

Scalability
Compatible with a wide range of commercial vehicle types including trucks, buses, and more, our electric axle solutions support both single-axle and multi-axle configurations. Our R&D team has mastered syncrhonized control for up to 16 e-axles, ensuring safe, stable, and responsive vehicle operation.
Durability
Using advanced manufacturing techniques, our e-axles are engineered for strength and long-term performance. Key components such as bearings are sourced from top-tier international suppliers. For HCVs, we utilize an integrated axle housing design capable of handling up to 16 tons.
Reliability
Every electric axle system undergoes rigorous bench and real-world testing to ensure performance under diverse road conditions and harsh environments. Most of our e-axle systems are already in volume production for commercial vehicles, offering proven reliability in real-world applications.
Brogen Electric Axle Drive Solutions
Based on different configurations, our electric axle drive solutions include coaxial e-axles, parallel-axis e-axles, and distributed drive e-axles. These solutions cover the full range of commercial vehicles – from light- to heavy-duty – with a single axle supporting up to 16 tons of rated load.

Coaxial Electric Axle
Designed for light commercial vehicles, this system integrates the motor and drive axle into one unit. The motor is arranged coaxially with the axle housing, creating a more compact structure and a highly concentrated power system, which optimizes the chassis layout. It adopts an integrated structure to adapt to the specific conditions of electric vehicles.
- Smallest chassis footprint in the industry
- High-precision cylindrical helical gear transmission
- Power Range: 60-160 kW
- Rated Axle Load: 3,500-8,500 kg
- Suitable For: Pickup trucks, buses from 6-9 meters

Parallel-Axis Electric Axle
This configuration is suitable for nearly all types of commercial vehicles. The motor and reducer are integrated directly into the drive axle, with the motor mounted parallel to the axle housing. Using cylindrical gears to achieve a high gear ratio, the design eliminates unnecessary transmission components—resulting in a more compact layout and improved power transmission efficiency.
- Achieved mass deployment
- Integrated multi-speed, multi-motor system
- Power Range: 60-620 kW (dual-motor)
- Rated Axle Load: 2,700-16,000 kg
- Suitable For: Class 1 to Class 8 trucks, buses from 6-12 meters

Distributed Electric Axle
This design is well-suited for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The distributed drive architecture enables precise control of torque and speed through independent motors. Featuring a dual-motor setup with wheel-side reducers, it offers a short transmission path, delivering high transmission efficiency. The integrated layout optimizes chassis space, allowing for underfloor battery placement. Wheel-side torque vectoring further enhances handling and maneuverability.
- Additional safety redundancy for enhanced reliability
- 20% lighter than direct drive system
- Power Range: 160-600 kW (dual-motor)
- Rated Axle Load: 9,000-16,000 kg
- Suitable For: Heavy-duty trucks, e-trailers, buses from 8-18 meters, tippers
Applications
Public Transport
For city buses, highway coaches, double-decker buses, articulated buses, trolleybuses, and more.
Our electric axle drive solutions support fully-flat low floor designs, enabling one-step entry and wider aisles - enhancing passenger accessibility and comfort. At the same time, they improve vehicle performance, handling stability, and reduce both operational and maintenance costs for fleet operators. This contributes to more efficient, sustainable, and passenger-friendly urban transportation.
Urban Delivery
For pickup trucks, box trucks, cargo trucks, light trucks, municipal vehicles, and more.
The electric axle solutions for LCVs feature a compact, integrated design that frees up valuable chassis space - enabling larger battery capacity or increased cargo volume. The lightweight architecture reduces overall vehicle weight, improving energy efficiency and extending driving range, making it an ideal solution for urban logistics and last-mile delivery.
Heavy Haulage
For semi-trucks, trailers, tippers, dump trucks, mining trucks, concrete mixers, water trucks, garbage trucks, and more.
Our electric axle solutions for heavy-duty commercial vehicles deliver high output power and torque to meet the demands of challenging operating environments - including ports, mines, and construction sites. The integrated, lightweight design reduces overall system weight and allows for a more compact layout, optimizing battery placement and enhancing vehicle efficiency.
Intelligent Manufacturing Plant
Currently we have multiple electric axle production facilities, with a combined annual capacity exceeding 10,000 units – demonstrating our strong scalability, consistent quality, and reliable supply. A new production base was launched in 2024, adding an additional 8,000 units of annual capacity. Meanwhile, a new smart factory project is underway, designed for large-scale production of up to 20,000 electric axles per year. This advanced facility will further strength our ability to provide stable, high-volume supply to our global customers.
